Yurkos song of the day: I Whooped Batman's Ass- by Wesley Willis

"Its just like the story of the grasshopper and the octopus. All year long the grasshopper kept burying acorns for winter while the octopus mooched off his girlfriend and watched TV. Then the winter came, and the grasshopper died, and the octopus ate all his acorns and also he got a racecar. Is any of this getting through to you?"

BLOOODDDYYY HEELLLLL ENMAX!!!!!!!!!!

god damn power outage, i was this close to finishing offf tonights post.. THIS CLOSE!!! but noooo they had to go and have a damn power outage and i lose every god damn word. AARRRGGGHHH!!!!! this angers me to no end! it was getting pretty good too, one of my better nonsensical rantings about nothing but now its lost forever because i cant even begin to recall half of the junk that i had said. GRRRRRR

siiiggghhhh..... ah well liff must go on as they say i had planned on hitting the old sack but jenn wanted me to make up another post so i being the soft touch that i am when it comes to forceful Family Guy requests (COMEOOONNNN) esp when i am tired, here we are: me typing, you reading and germany preparing to invade a small neutral country (yes i know stop with ze german bashing but hey ive been watching alot of stuff on WWII as of late {bloody social} so i find it amusing although no one else will) Basically to sum up a good chunk of what was in my last post, finished off my physics for the week, wasnt fun at all, english we are almost done Death of a Salesman which is a time to rejoice although now i have to write up an essay which is not a time to be happy at all ( i hate essays with a passion) annd social is social what can i say, although i must remeber to ask piitz something about the ruskies from the end of the war on monday (a question which occured to me whilst finally finishing up watching Band of Brothers {damn great series}).

Also been getting back into the reading as of late, mostly the works by my new favourite author; Philip K. Dick. Man this guy has churned out some greats. What got me on to his works was my reccoletion that the movies Blade Runner (one of my all time favourites) and Minority Report were both based off books that he had done. So recalling this (and having my handy calendar reccomend another one of his novels {same one that gave us the glory of Cheese Sunday :P}) I went to the good old libratorium and signed out "Do Androids dream of Electric Sheep?" the novel of which blade runner is based and of course "The Minority Report". Man are these great books, "Do androids.." in particular, never have i read a book so gripping and filled with such plot twists that you actually cant see them coming no matter how hard you think, but whats great is that there all feasable in the constraints of the book, not like some novels where theres a twist just for the sake of fucking with the reader. Damn good reads, damn damn damn damn damn good. On that note go and rent Blade Runner, id reccomend the Directors cut but either or are great movies.

On that note of great movies im not to sure if ive ranted about the movie Memento before but that is one sweet film. The whole concept alone is great, a man with no short term memory who has to go through life, while hunting the man who killed/raped his wife. But to then take the whole idea and run the film in backwards order, sheer genious i tells you, sheer genious. Its not a movie for everyone mind you, it does require a heavy amount of attention and thought but if you can get into it and like stuff like that then well its a great ride. Happily i would also like to mention that the same guy who directed the afformentioned Memento is the one whos going to be making the new Batman movie, which keeping my fingers crossed, will vindicate the greatness that is Batman (yes i know, i r loser) after the horrible crap fest that was Batman and Robin (damn you George Clooney, daaammmmnn yooouuu). but yes i digress.... well i have no where to digress to soo it looks like we are stuck now doesnt it?

well im running out of stuff to say, considering much of my creativity was pumped into the post that no one will see. grrrrrrrr. But yeah i just feel that i will end this off on a note of semi sadness. Mostly to due with the fact that i still wish someone would make a monkey island movie (although now it would just look like a knock off of Pirates of the Carribean..siiigghh) that and its really to bad that the adventure game genre has died and gone off to heaven. Lets face it folks, sure shooters and such are great fun (considering how many i own i can attest to that) but there is a certain charm to be had with the sharp wit that can be found in a greatly written adventure game. Especially those that came from the genious minds over at LucasArts. Well most of that can be attested to the genious that is Ron Gilbert. you look at all the great games that came from this guy and you will be hard pressed not to find a seething pot of witty goodness. From the monkey island games 1-3 (not 4 that was done by a different team, guys who did Sam and Max) to Full Throttle and Grim Fandango, each and every one was great fun to play through and equally witty in its greatness. This does bring up a tang of sadness though because LucasArts was planning on making an sequel to Full Throttle but sadly that got canned, ah well one can hope that the next Sam and MaX game along with the rumoured Monkey Island 5 comes out......
Yes well now that ive offically declared, branded and tried myself as a total loser/geek/idiot methinks that i shalt get me some much needed shut eye. soo..

Till Next Ramble
