Yet another post coming at you from the rather bored mind of el yurko. This is startin to get a little crazy folks, more than 3 comments in more than 2 consecutive days? what the heck is this world coming too?? People actually commenting and all, damn this is soo odd i think my spleen is acting up again...

ok so no its not (just like 11, damn him; that will never get old) so aaannywho here comes a thrusday night edition of the rambles of a bored mind.

Today was mostly uneventful, got up far to early for anyones liking to go to yet another stupidly pointless band practice. Although this did present some ample erin shunnage moments none the less another hour of sleep would have been very very nice. This of course coming from the guy who plans on getting up at 5 tomorrow to go swimming to get ready for a swim meet he doesnt even want to do. But hey i never didnt say i wasnt not crazy! (pretty sure those cancelled out into what i wanted to say but if not meh, you'll never know {of course now that ive said that it means you will know so at the risk of a self inflicted anyurism ill shut up}). Stupid erin though, pretty sure ive said all there is to say about her soo ill just shake my fist for the sake of fist shaking

Aaanywho reading the paper yesterday brought to my attention some information that has me royally saddened/pissed. This of course being the news about the WB canning Angel after this season. Considering that i seem to be the only person whom i know that is actually sad/cares about this im pretty sure thats why its being cancelled, regardless though this still leaves a funny taste in my mouth. Bah stupid tv networks, Angel was just starting to get really good again (esp after the crapfest that was last season, stupid pregnant whiney chick left over from buffy), it was back to the good old days of dry wit, non stop fights and really good plots. So what does the WB do? why the cancel it of course whereas they decide to renew Charmed, which is i might add one of the biggest wastes of tv space known to man. Whats even more sad is that there probably going to fill the spot with some other teen soap opra, small town crap shoot that seems to be there programming of choice theses days (all the everwood and gilmore girls clones). Sighh so dissapoiting; mostly because once you hear news like this it always taints ones feelings when watching new episodes of the show. Such that no matter how good it is, lurking deep back there in your mind is that little nagging though of "well yeah its good, but this means one more episode closer to the end" Ruins alot of the fun i tells ya. And this coming on the heels of two really great episodes too. First one about beating up nazis back in ww2 (pure great tv, bar none) to last nights episode involving an evil kids tv show (much like the one on the cancelled {grrrrr} greg the bunny) with demon puppets who look like the ones of the afformentions greg the bunny, and a truly great moment where angel gets turned into a puppet. Some of the scenes were just great, the best coming to mind the one where the puppets are going at it with each other, swords and all which made for a very funny tv moment. This pure writing genious was of course brought to you (and by you i mean me) by the same guy who created and wrote the various tick shows and comic book (Ben Edlund), top notch all around. But yes great show, once again canned. It would appear that many of the shows that i really like are being cancelled. Now this might have to do with me liking television that no one else but their sick half dying dogs like but i just stand to the fact that Tv excecutives are really stupid. really really really stupid. Nothing i can do about it other than rant so rant i shall.

Speaking of Tv, the other show taht watch alot of currently has been Las Vegas. usually a good place for some good brainless entertainment (well the best that can be found on a monday night in any case). This weeks episode however was god awful. Firstly they take a show entitled Las Vegas and for some unknown reason decide to write a really really REALLY shoddy plot around the main cast having to go to New Orleans for mardi gras. Whats worse is that its pretty damn clear that there not really in New Orleans but just in locals that are lit just dark enough so that you cant see the rather obvious fact that its on a sound stage. At least when there in las vegas you have the shots of them being out and about to make it feel like your there. Siggghh, just another dissapointing turn of events in yurkos tv watching of late.

One thing that has bothered me though has been the recent trend (well not really recent but more people doing it) of people jumping onto things once they suddenly become the cool/in thing to do. No im not talking about drugs or anything like that, im more talking about fads and stuff of that nature. Specifically people tastes in Tv and music. Firstly my gripes go towards Family guy an its sudden "outbirst" of fans. What a load of crock i tells ya. Ive been a fan of the show since its original airing on Fox and what really bugs me is that when teletoon first picked it up to start airing again I was so pumped. Did anyone else care? No, in fact most people didnt even know waht the hell a family guy was. Buuuuttt now taht its all in and popular everyone seems to be the biggest fan of the thing. Yes i know thats kinda a good thing, considering that its people like that who have prompted fox to revive the show but i have my doubts, its probably going to end up being nothing like it was and quickly tank. hmmm not to sure where to go from there buuutt on to other topics
Its similar to people who start liking something and decide that anyone who does like it but doesnt fit into what they consider the proper part of waht the like entails is a poser even if they liked it before them. Case in point the current crop of punk muzac, which although im not a huge fan of is readily appearant for this type of behaviour. According to friends who are big into all of this, if you like punk but dont dress all skaterish (which i think looks kinda stupid neways but thats beside the point) then you are considered a poser. Whats odd is that im pretty sure that they would say stuff like this to people who are in the 40's-50's who say that the like punk. whats odd about that is that these people could easily call them the true posers and the like because true punk dates back to the mid to late 70's which basically means that anyone who wasnt big into it back then is a poser; thusly making any arguements for how one should dress to like something etc. moot. Then again im pretty sure i contradicted myself a few times there thusly making my whole comment moot buuuuttt welll the spleen again...
