Yurkos song of the day: Like a Stone-
by Audioslave
"Tragedy is when I cut my finger. Comedy is when you walk into an open sewer and die"
hehehehehehe....... Im sorry but this is now officially THE BEST QUOTE EVER!! bar none; no exceptions; end of discussion. Granted i find pretty much all of Mel Brook's movies extremly funny (he being the one who uttered this magnificient statement) so my opinions might be slightly biased. Regardless of that fact i love that quote. Just thought i would point that out in case you folks didnt gather that from the whole fact that i made it my quote of the day and all.
Moving on, profound apoligies for the massive lapse in posts. 2 plus weeks is a horrendus amount of time to not put up a new one. Rest assurred my head is hung in shame. Of course you people do need to realise that my combination of massive amts of homework plus leaving stuff till the last minute tends to add up to a constant madcaped game of finish whats due in the next 10min which needless to say doesnt leave much time for a blog. I will put in attempts though, such as now so dont forget about this site completly, otherwise i will be sad and comon who honestly wants to see yurko sad? (bonus points to whomever responds to that the wittiest, and yes i know what all you pricks are going to say {most especially neil}).
All that being said, let us see if i can remeber what it is that ive done in the last while. Not a great deal would be the all-encompassing answer. Went drinking again with the floor last friday, yes i know twice in a month is madness huh? (hey ive always said im not a big drinker). Ive decided that the only way one can injest the crap that is Kokanee is by drinking enough good liquor beforehand so as to deaden the tastebuds. And you know what im cutting this paragraph short cause this is all that fucking blogger decided to save after its random spazdic server crash. Bloody hell... bloody hell.
So yeah on to music i guess, originally i did have a rather long winded rambling about TV, movies, all of my courses and the like but damnit ive not only lost all intrest in this post but forgotten much of what i wrote. Have i mentioned that im rather pissed at blogger? Well i just did yet again. Im sorry its not you people faults, but gah all that effort gone. Might as well move on to the abriged rant on U2's Vertigo. Vertigo being there latest single off the up and coming new album. Not song of the day im sure your all thinking? but why is this? do you not like U2? have i asked enough questions to piss anyone off yet? The answer to all of that is a resounding catfish. Seriously though (well as serious as i can ever be when ive just mentioned something utterly stupid {so as serious as i always am}) its not that bad of a song, its one of those songs that you start to appreciate after about the 10th listen. There lies my problems with it, and why its not my song of the day (and most likely never will be). The first single off a long awaited album should smack the listener upside the head with the "BUY ME" two by four, cause thats what leaves an impression not a slight prod to the arm that takes a good hundred more for you to appreciate the effect. First singles should leave you anticipating more, wanting the album etc not saying, as some of my floor mates put it "It sounds more like a garbled mess of sound than a song" or to put it more bluntly "definetly not U2's best". Good impression to get from the first listen, well unless you were going for the apathetic sells no records vibe. And that video, what can you say about it other than a bunch of failing grade 10 drama kids could probably come up with better. Playing infront of one static camera while clearly on a soundstage with a curtain behind you, oh wait sorry a curtain with some lights flashing on it, is obviously up to the high standards that one associates with a labels most prominent groups. Siighh... ah well thats enough razzing on old 80's rock groups. Ive taken quite the liking of the music of both Tom Petty and Audioslave recently. Might have to actually go out and purchase one of either's albums. That being of course when i get some money (so see not for a good while).
That being said i bring to a close this lobotomised version of what could have been a far long, far more interesting and far wittier post but nooo blogger likes to randomly crash its servers just to piss me off. Who am i kidding, no one cares about yurko that much; random chance and all that. One final note if any of you folks see "Reaperman" by Terry Pratchett or "Settling Accounts: Return Engagement" by Harry Turtledove for sale ill gladly reimburse you if you could pick it up for me cause i have looked and am currently unable to find either novel this side of existence.
Till Next Ramble (unless blogger swallows this post as well)
The Amazing, Boring Yurko
