Yurkos song of the day: The Ground beneath her feet - by U2

"There must be some kind of disease that causes people to talk like that, and the name for it must be something like Airline Syllable Stress Syndrome. It's the disease that seems to kick in at about ten thousand feet and becomes more and more pronounced, if thats a good word to use in this context, with altitude until it levels out at a plateau of complete nonsense at about 35,000 feet. It makes otherwise rational people start saying things like "The captain has now turned off the seatbelt sign," as if there were someone lurking around the cockpit attempting to deny that the captain has done any such thing, that he is indeed the captain and not an imposter, and that there aren't a whole bunch of second-rate and inferior seatbelt signs that he mightn't have been fiddling about with."

*shifty eyes* Hmm yes well lets just assume that i havent taken an obsenely long time to put up another post and move on eh? We are all agreed? Great. A truly exceptional not to mention my longest quote yet today. Exceptional for a few reasons because well for one its rather humours, two its by one of my favourite authors but most of all not only did i read this while on a plane but just moments after the stewardess had stated "The captain has now turned off the seatbelt sign" The sheer timing alone makes it worthy of being quoted. Ahh Douglas Adams and The Salmon of Doubt, as previously stated its a very sad novel because well it will never end and his endings are usually so random and unexpected there is no way to even guess whats going to happen.

Yeah so i actually do have a great deal to talk about mostly dealing with my trip to mexico. I decided though that because it would make for an incredibly lengthy post to put down all the thoughts i had over the holiday (and yes i had the audacity to write them all down, shame on you Yurko) I figured that i will actually not mention any of it at all. Instead ill make a quick update tonight and leave it up to you the good readers, if you feel that i should slog out the summary of my happy and sunny holiday let me know. Otherwise it will remain forever locked in my mind never to be revealed. Almost interesting and suspenseful if it wasnt coming from me. That being said I have added 30 some pictures of the trip to my MSN photo dump so now you can take a look at my mexican experience along with some shots of my floor.

Speaking of audience participation I have been meaning to change the title of my blog from "Yurkos totally stupid blog" Now granted it fits my usual self depreciating style, it is quite frankly an extremly stupid title and any input on a better one would be grand. Also any help on finding a site for some new templates would be super as well because the massive one that i used to find this one has just gotten far to large and its so ackward to look though that its not worth the effort.

Went and saw The Life Aquatic before i left and oh man is that a great movie. Its not a film designed for laughing out loud but its suttle slow humour seeps into you so that by the end you have enjoyed yourself immensly. Plus it is one of the most random movies ive seen in a long while (random in a good, funny way of course). It wont be everyones cup of tea but if you like Bill Murray and very offbeat movies then i reccomend it wholeheartedly. Of course dont expect a deep life changing experience out of it because it is after all a very silly, nonsensical movie.

School has started yet again, ended up passing last semester with a B avg which isnt all that bad but i know i could have done a great deal better (esp in bio, damn B+ grrr). Meh ill just have to try harder this one albeit considering im now writing a blog instead of reading shows how far thats going to go. Bio should be intersting esp after hearing your Prof on the topic of Fungus state and i quote (this came really close to being the quote of the post but i just had to give douglas adams that last honour) "And then there are the Fungi, who have the monopoly on the kinky sex tactics in nature." It was at the same time the most shocking and funny thing i have heard in a very long time. Org chem will be its usual self, although hopefully this time if i actually do work i will do far better. English im taking a very shocking turn towards decent marks and frankly im scared. A 77 on my midterm, 79 on the last essay; What in God's name is going on??! Its a scary world indeed when i can get 79 on a university english essay.

Esentially that brings this all to a close, but before i go id like to say a thing or two. Jenn yeah haloscan has the happy tendency to eat comments whenever its dark lord requires sustinence. But hey thats the price you pay for using a demonic service. I find copying your comments before you hit publish helps alleviate that problem. Jackie thats fair if you think it looks stupid, everyones intitled to their own opinion etc. The thing is though that in the comics (yes i know i read the comics, clearly previously stated im a loser) they made that change years and years ago to him going around the world for his martial arts training. Frankly it makes more sense that he uses all that money to get the best combat training he can to fight crime compared to the old batman where it was "I am rich...therefore i can kick your ass". But hey we all cant agree now can we? I'll just hold you personally accountable if the film flops :P

Till Next Ramble

The Amazing, Boring Yurko

(p.s. remeber folks participation requires input...not fish, although i could go for some good seafood. Man the stuff they have here is just horrid. So dry and shitty and most likely carrying multiple sicknesses related to ones bowels...what? its still on? BLAST!!)
