Yurkos song of the day: Two Shots-
by Matt Dusk
"You know, though today was the worst day of my life, I learned many things. First, the world looks a lot different when you're six inches tall and covered with feathers. Second, two heads are definitely not better than one. And finally, you can lay eggs and still feel like a man. "
Allo, another post mostly cause im bored so what ya gonna do? Well write up another post appearantly. Not a great deal to speak aboot but meh im sure you will all listen anyways.
Very amusing quote that sadly makes no sense at all unless you know the context and well as much faith (cue sarcastic laugh) that i have in my writing skills, somehow i doubt it can be any sort of subsitiute for animation/visuals. Regardless you can trust me that it is rather amusing (involves a supervillan turning the tick into a two headed chicken, hehe oh the absurdity).
Very good song today as i somewhat expressed in the last post i do believe. A rather talented canadian jazz/blues singer here who has a vibe very reminicent of Frank Sinatra and the like of that era which in many respects was the hayday of this form of jazz music. Good song on that note, appearantly it was written by U2 and was originally planned to be sung by Frank Sinatra but considering he became living challenged this guy eventually did the song. Take a listen if u get the chance cause it just oozes cool.
Hmm, well the site has appearantly reached an all time low with having a grand total of zero comments! Whoo moderatly priced beer all around! My guess is that all of you people have moved on with your lives to the point that my ramblings in all there stupidity arent worth the time. Granted its a valid point but i shall remain doing this regardless of comments or not (this isnt to say i dont want em) because well just so long as im bored enough my thoughts will ramble. Well yeah that or i either eventually lose intrest or university starts up; whichever comes first! (When i started writing this there was zero comments on the last one but now i see that this is no longer the case so i dont need you guys pointing out the fact that this paragraph now appears to be flawed)
Added a brand new link to the sidebar there, replacing the one that i used to have for the Q which although is still a grand old radio station, i never listen to the radio anymore anyways so i figured whats the point? Ergo the new link is for the Up and Coming Batman movie (Summer 2005) and i whole heartedly reccomend you take a look. It is looking to be what the Batman movies should have been all along, dark, suspenseful and with no lame ass camp factor. But yeah check out the teaser trailer that they have on the site, cause well i personally really liked it, thought it did what a teaser should (not give too much away but build anticipation). Looks like a top notch effort to revive the Batman movie franchise so im looking forward to it (now if they had only not released Catwoman, all would be grand).
Yeaahh well ive officially lost all intrest in this post. Comment on what little is here if u want, if not meh life goes on. I will say though that keith and jackie expect your letter bombs in the mail by next wednesday (note there not actually letter bombs, its just a very bad joke that i find kinda funny a the moment, dont sent the police after me cause i swear im not trying to kill you)

Yurkos song of the day: DoubleBack -
by ZZ Top
"I'm taking off the kid gloves, and putting on the very mad gloves!"
Man if there was ever a show that fox should put on DVD the old animated tick should be it. I swear hours of enjoyment from that show but alas i doubt it will ever happen. Now if i could only find those tapes i used to have of the show, ill just have to add it to the list of stuff i should do in this quickly dwindling summer. On that note, very amusing quote, cant remeber when on the show or the context but it is amusing and kinda fitting for my mood.
Extremly cool song today, comes from the Back to the Future III soundtrack actually. I was searching for this one for a good long while and i finally found it, albeit im not sure if its the exact song i wanted but regardless its very very cool. Man ZZ Top was the best part of that movie, even though they were only in it for a good 6 seconds. Ok so no THE best part but still i was amused by there spinning guitars/drums so its all good. Get the song, cause its some of there best work and ZZ Top is some great blues rock already so best plus great equals incredible!!
Saw an incredibly amusing commercial a while back, but i forgot to mention it on here. This thing rivals the goodness that was the Red Stripe Beer ad a while back, too bad its from Starbucks what with there damn expensive coffees which i swear have a negative caffeine effect on me. I say this because back in the days of swimteam some mornings after swimming but before school we would head to starbucks and it would be on those days and those days only that i would come the closest i ever have to falling asleep in school. If those desks wernt so damn uncomfortable it would have been lights out Yurko, all thanks to Starbucks, bastards, if i order coffee i should be able to stay awake for at the very least an hour after i drink it. BAH, too bad it tasted good though otherwise well yeah... where was it OH right commercial, got a bit off topic there. Aaannywho they have had lately these genius commercials for their doubleshot coffee drink things, which you can conveniently go and see at this link
http://www.starbucks.com/grocery/dblshot.asp But yeah the premise is basically this guy takes a drink from one of these double shot coffees and he ends up getting this arena rock band following him around all day singing this song about him. Its actually quite funny, esp the scene of the drumset being pushed down the street after him. A rather brilliant idea for an ad i must say, hopefully companies keep this sort of quality up, and if it wasnt for the afformentioned caffeine sucking power of starbucks coffee i would buy one of these things. Take a look though, very amusing
Hmmm darnit! Yet again i forget about poor Matt Dusk, my planned song of the day for a good while now. Ah well, hes got some good stuff all in taht frank sinatraish oozing with cool sound. Ill get around to it one of these days, but yeah theres no point putting to much mention in it before i make it the song of the day.
Last thing, if you didnt read the last post or you didnt care then (well then chances are u dont care now) my new email/msn is
deflatormouse@gmail.com so add me to your list if ive already added u etc. Hmm although whats the point of a new fancy email with a tick reference if no one gets it. Ah well, amuse myself I guess.

Yurkos song of the day: King of Pain-
by The Police
"...is like a humiliating kick in the crotch"
2 Days since prior post so time to post has came yet again. Not entirely anything at all to talk about on this post but meh i did say i would make em every 2 days so lets give it a go.
Another one of my favourite songs coming from the Police, really good one off their extremly good final album and i reccomend you take a listen if you get the chance. I had planned on putting some more modern music for today but this fits my mood slightly better. Same goes with the quote which comes from yet another Police song, Synchronicity II but ill get into all of that in a short while.
First a quick note, im in the process of switching my Email/MSN messenger accounts over to
deflatormouse@gmail.com (yay for unknown tick reference) so yes if you see that being added to your lists pls accept cause it will make my life easier, or unless you dont want to talk to me then dont accept but either way just giving everyone a heads up.
Just got back from looking at getting a new watch and dear god watches are expensive! Man that bloody pisses me off though, cause i found what i swear is the perfect watch for me, not overtly clunky, looks amazingly cool with the blue inlays etc but no bloody Omega has to make them 2 grand and up. I cant afford a frickin timepiece thats 2 thousand dollars. Why must you taunt me so??!! Bleh, ah well one day when im rich and excentric with millions to blow on everything and anything ill go back and buy that damn watch. Not today but someday...
Ive gotta get around to watching the Manchurian Candidate (original version) so that i can compare the upcoming new one to it. Was on TV last night but i missed most of it and im one of those crazy people who dont like ruining the ending of a film by well watching it before i see the start. And yet you would think i would watch the thing, considering that my family does own the movie but meh, never gotten around to it. Have to though one of these days.
Finally gotten around to reading my Dirk Gently Omnibus book, which if you probably dont know was the other series that Douglas Adams wrote other than the hitchikers guide books. There pretty funny, although ive got to get back into his writing style because ive become so used to that of Terry Pratchett. The two do write in a very similar fashion but there still are differences. Yet another reccomendation on my part, READ THEM!!!
But yeah as for the quote and song etc well ive been in a rather crummy mood since friday due to varying reasons most of which have to do with getting the feeling that someone up there likes to get me all nice and happy just so they can hork a good wad of spit in my smiling mouth. Hence the feeling of it being like a kick in the crotch. Its like Oh yes that was a hell of alot of fun, and then you rember/are reminded of something and its like...... god damnit. And this is what i leave my hermitage for? Ill take living in the cave and not having my hopes crushed thank you very much. Ah well i know, much like the words of Mr. Sideburns (well not his words origninally but he did utter them at a good time so that i remeber them now) i know that ive just gotta get over it and move on but well thinking it and doing it is two completly different things. Damn brain, why cant you listen to yourself? Yeah and thats enough out of me for one day

Yurkos song of the day: Dreaming-
by Blondie
"Isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking, but when you're good and crazy, ooh ooh ooh, the sky is the limit!"
Another slight delay on the posting but who cares? I know i dont, although i did want to get another one up cause that last one was mostly a garbled mess that appearantly has a rather nasty odor as well what with the lack of comments and all. Regardless a really good song today, from one of the quirkier groups in the 80's. Also i must say that todays quote is probably one of my favourite quotes ever. So amusing and in many ways kinda true. Huzzah for the Tick and all his infinite wisdom!
Not a great deal to talk about, finally got around to watching The Road Warrior which is now within the top 5 of my all time favourite movies. So damn cool most especially that ending. It would be so much fun to make movies like that but meh tis only a dream. Also went and got my drivers license (yes i know finally) on thursday so tahts a definite good thing, now bring on the insurance and im good to go. Also got my marks in the mail, which honestly doesnt matter much anymore cause i all ready knew that they were good enough for U of A but yeah i did pretty good, thought i had done better on my english essay but meh life goes on.
Wow, last night sure was interesting though i must say. BBQ at victors, who i must say can make one damn tasty steak. Kudos to that sir! Last time i check how done a hamburger is by taking a bite out of it though. As fun as it is to take one for the team, me and E.Coli arent really the best of friends. We also ended up much later deciding to head down to crowfoot to catch the Bourne Supremacy and when we get there, me being in the tired and easily amused state that i was said we should go for the 10:21 showing instead of 10:20 because the one makes it cool. Needless to say we sit there in the theatre for a good while and around 10:20ish some theatre employee comes in saying that the motor on the projector has burnt out and they cant show us the film but we will give you free passes and a refund. So yeah while everyone else in the theatre is complaining, all of us just find it rather amusing. It did make for the one time that ive been to a movie and ended up turning a profit. Hooray Cineplex! Headed back to the victors place and i must say that contrary to popular belief two old nerf guns and one nerf dart is a hell of alot more amusing than you would think. Good times, good times. Hooray meeting new people!
And well yeah im done

Yurkos song of the day: The Party's Over (Hopelessly In Love)-
by Journey
"So the cosmic circus moves along, its tiniest clown gone to rejoin it once again."
Too true Tick, Too true... anywho another post, probably just as longwinded and boring as most if not all of mine, but hey why mess with a system that works huh? Some would say for improvement or some garbage like that but to them i say why not 6 fish?
Whats new in the world of yurko since last post. Not a great deal, well theres a few small things but nothing really of massive intrest to anyone but I. Firstly missed out on seeing the finals of the chuckwagons back on sunday cause my sister had to study for a summer school exam. Cant say im crying, what with it being the stampede and all (whooo..ooo) but yeah its something to talk about. Last two parts of that Uncle Scrooge series ive been pursuing finally came in, this of course resulted in a rather happy me cause i can chalk that up to yet another one of my pointless quests completed. Good times reminiscing about time back in the day. Speaking of pointless quests, thanks to the magic of BitTorrent and some site that victor sent me i was finally able to find
The Dig, it being probably the hardest to find Lucasarts adventure game, and concurrently one of there best but it didnt sell cause it wasnt comedic like the usual ones they produced; hence rariety. Still though im content, gives me something else to do.
Finally was able to get to the varsity rogers and rent the second mad max movie,
The Road Warrior, I havent been able to watch it yet but i should in the coming days and well im looking forward to some damn good post apokalyptic Australia. Hooray Nuclear War!
Its so comforting to know that you morons can read instructions. Comooon keith and jackie how hard is it to just write your damn adress down and email it to me? At least Neil has the excuse of not reading the last post but you guys did AND commented but still no dice. Damnit, its not like i have any use for a bloody bag of army men and a small plastic walrus so dont let me down again. And dont worry this is not some big complex plan so i can get your adresses and stalk you or something, really its not; i havent reached that level of pathetic yet.
Saw an ad for the movie
Collateral and i must say damn that looks awesome. After The Last Samurai ive got faith in Tom Cruise to make for a good Hitman esc movie and it looks like Jamie Foxx doesnt do much comedy so it should be good (although i would be much happier if he died in the first 5min but still the trailers look promising).
Was going through the toy department of Wal Mart a little while back and i had what is a rather amusing idea that i must try one of these days. You know how they sell those extra packs of monopoly money well i think it would be so much fun to just buy a couple packs and go through downtown giving wads of monopoly bills to people with the comment "Here, Keep the Change" or "Buy yourself some nice real-estate" etc to that extent. Heheh man that would be some fun, that or go oblivious style (one of the funniest shows on tv btw) and ask some random people a question and give em 20 bucks if they get it right etc. Of course that would ahve to be done when im rich and exccentric enough to be able to spend money like that but it would be rather fun and i think a rather natural transition from putting spare change into random parking metres which btw is a great pass time when your in a different city, esp one with lots of parking meters!
Quick side note, your going to have to tell me some of the movies that this "Jogn Cleese" has been in jackie cause if he is both a relative of John Cleese AND nearly as funny as rowan atkinson i must see some of his or hers stuff. That and Keith I must see this massive Lego collection dating back to the 60(?) cause that would be massive. And yeah ive seen those medival ones, they look pretty cool but there not as good as the ones from back when we were youngin's.
Hmm well i did say i would have a nice rant about how Shania Twain helped to ruin rock music, actually a better term would be music in general but well like always i should have done this on sunday cause most of my rant has farted out my ears some time between well sunday and right now. I think i can get the jist of it down though. Essentially it stems more from her connection with the producer Robert "Mutt" Lange, who during his prime in the 70's to 90's worked with such groups as AC/DC, Def Leppard, Foreigner, Loverboy, Bryan Adam's, The Car's, Huey Lewis & The News etc. Now here was a producer who helped to give all of these groups there well known sound and was the producer on many of there best albums including Highway to Hell and Back in Black for AC/DC, and Pyromania and Hysteria for Def Leppard; with Hysteria being one of the best selling Rock albums of all time. He also did Brya Adam's Waking up the Neighbours which was one of his biggest albums. All great music that he helped to create and then during the mid 90's along came Shania "I live in switzerland all year but still like to call myself canadian" Twain. Bleh. So now instead of working with such great rock acts as previously stated this great rock producer starts helping her churn out that crap ass country pop junk that she has all her career. Which also led to the nice influx of almost every single country act nowadays acting as if there huge rock stars even when 6 of the members of the group are named either "Cyrus" or "Billy Bob" and three of which play either banjo, the jug, or both. Damn stupid country. Whats worse is that once he started to work mostly with Shania Twain, you had these other groups forced to work with other producers like Def Leppard using one of the backstreet boys old ones and creating one of the WORST albums ever (that being X), AC/DC producing there own music in the rather dissapointing and genereally regarded as there worst album ever Flick of the Switch etc etc. Also probably what is the worst part of her influcence is you look at what other groups he worked with after marrying her and we get a bevy of pop drivel artists such as but not restricted to Michael Bolton, the Backstreet boys, Celine Dion, Britney Spears etc etc. Siigghh. Pre Shania AC/DC, Def Leppard; post Shania Backstreet boys, Celine Dion. So yeah tahts basically it, like i said not a very good argument/rant but meh i forgot most of what i was going to say. I do see the point that maitland usually makes when ive tried to bring this up before (albeit the actual point hes trying to make, not how he says it) and well yeah he did marry the woman etc so of course he is going to work on her stuff but all i know is that i would much rather listen to the greatness that was High and Dry or Hysteria then be forced to listen to anything off the horrible horrible X. So damnit Lange go back to your roots, and lets hear some more of that great rock that you used to help create and put an end to the pop bull shit.
Yes well im done, mocking and ridicule will now commense!!

Yurkos song of the day: Be Good to Yourself-
by Journey
"Oh, what a goofy work is man!"
Gah! I hate you Blogger, this new system of inputting type is a pain in the ass, the bold stays on even after entering the first line; right clicking on the window to paste the quote jumps the screen around, and the font size is to damn big; makes me feel like some old person using the Big Font for easy readings books...damnit! im not old yet!!
Enough of my complaining. Hmmm, added another counter to the site which is supposedly able to tell me how many new readers there are compared to return ones. How well or effective this will be only time can tell. Chances are it will be gone by monday.
Another good 80's song, This one from one of my favourites Journey; more of a feel good song cause i dont know maby the heats getting to me but i seem to be in a much better mood as of late. Well it might be that or maby its just the fact that ive found 2 of the last 4 comics in that Life and times of uncle scrooge series of which i love (yay loserage!! but who cares there damn good reads). Now only till the remaining two show up and ill be very happy indeed.
Ive realised that there is one huge way to determine when a passive hobby has reached somewhat of an obsession. This deals of course with me and my like of lego. What im talking about of course is taht they ahve this Ultimate collection with massive things to build with thousands of peices etc. What this has to do with an obsession is when you are looking at one of these things thinking its kinda cool and when you notice the $400 canadian price tag your first reaction is not "Dear god thats expensive" but "hmmm.................. dont got enough cash, damn.." Let me tell you that is a very scary thing to even consider, SCARY!!! of course the fact that i dont have the cash means my obsession should die but still.. it would be a great way to kill the summer....
Rat Race was on earlier tonight, which i might add is probably one of the best movies ever and one of my favourites. Soo funny most especially John Cleese and John Lovitz, cant complain with Rowan Atkinson also. Such a good movie, first time i saw it i laughed sooo hard during the movie, hardest ive ever laughed in any film when seeing it in a theatre. Hehehe but hey if you havent seen it superstation is doing like they always do and showing the movie 8 billion times this weekend. Yay...? Drivers test coming up this week, should be a good load of fun i must say and by fun i mean damnit id better pass or ill be mildly displeased.
Well yeah esentially im done, i did have a very nice and long and rather indepth rant/bitching about why and how Shainia Twain ruined rock music or if not that a rather large piece of it that I for one really enjoyed BUT this post has gotten far to long as it is (ive been trying to cut the length down on these/gotta keep enough material for these regular posts). Oh before i forget it would make my life much easier if everyone who i said won a post would email me there adress unless i already know it (aka neil, keith and jackie) such that if i dont see you guys i can mail you the various stuff cause im not one to chintz out when i promise prizes (and neil by prize i clearly mean those cds u wanted me to burn)

Yurkos song of the day: Where The Streets Have No Name-
by U2
"Yeah, well, don't count your weasels before they pop, dink!"
Another one of my favourites from U2, back in there pre-lets go and make political comments on everything cause were musicicans days (also known as the mid 80's to stick to the theme). Amusing quote as well, from you guessed it the Tick. But yeah enough about that.
Hmmm.. Went to the Stampede yesterday which turned out to be somewaht a source of amusement. Did more rides than normal, all of which turned out to be good fun. Well the one exception would be the zipper, bloody lap bar pressed into my groin every time the damn thing flipped, that was not so much fun. Did enjoy the drop of fear or what have you, and going through/making fun of the haunted houses was rather amusing as well. All in all the rides were a good way to spend time, although once is more than enough for me. It did allow for two very funny instances though, first one happening when we stopped for food at the Big 4 building. Well there is this cafeteria ish thing in the basement and one of the places sells fish and chips. Hmm of course this was definetly something you had to be there for but they ran out of Tartar sauce and there was this one guy who looked like he was going to have a heart attack or something and yelled "There out of Tartar Sauce!" followed by asking everyone around "Whens the Tartar Sauce coming??!!" Was very very funny, and of course he is dubbed the tartar sauce man till the end of time. Second thing was when we were playing the complete ripoff midway games, you know how there is the one where you throw the coloured dice and whicever colour it lands on wins a prize etc. Well after a few of the normal place 1 bet somewhere rounds and subsequent losses me and giacomo got fed up and i pulled out a 10, he pulled out a five and we carpeted the entire damn thing in loonies, this resulted in Giacomo winning another lizard to go with his collection (the first he got while we were milking the guess my weight games; everyone was always off by 30lbs on giacomo=instant prize) so yeah just to be fair he gave me 5 bucks so we were even cause neiter of us knew who put that dollar down, and with that 5 we ended up winning me my big yellow snake dealie. So yeah yay for prizes even if they end up costing a great deal. Not my greatest moment for sure but meh it was amusing.
Well other than that, nothing much is new other than i finally got my Govt cheque for the election work. Huzzah all around cause i like money. Hmm yeah well thats it for today.

Yurkos song of the day: You give love a bad name-
by Bon Jovi
"Well, once again we find that clowning and anarchy don't mix."
Got another post here as promised, albeit im starting to realise the problems with trying to uphold a post every 2 days. Basically because well i have nothing at all to talk about. Regardless i must attempt to press onwards if only because im bored as all hell.
Not much to talk about like i said, it would appear that the vehicle mocking has begun, thanks jackie good to know you want me to flip it thusly killing myself. On that note i hope no one tries to hold up your liquor store and stab you repeatedly with a butterknife.
Its always so saddening though when you finish a book, esp when its at the end of a somewhat series type thing. This being what i did yesterday so now ive gotta go out yet again and find some new books to read. Damnit so much work i tell ya.
Hmm well it would appear that what i thought would play out leading to an outburst of huge rage didnt really turn out as expected. Kinda dissapointing really cause i did have a rather huge rant planned out that would have been right up there with some of my finest. Siiigghh ah well im sure ill have good reason sometime in the future. I would like to note that the whole Hermit thing was in fact a joke and that as content as i am sitting at home there are those odd moments that i do enjoy doing stuff outside. So yes let that be noted such and so forth etc etc. Like i said nothing at all to talk about today so well im basically done.

Yurkos song of the day: I Will Follow-
by U2
"There is no such thing as edible, nay delicious, meat pie floater, its mushy peas of just the right consistency, its tomato sauce piquant in its cheekiness, its pid filling tending even towards named parts of the animal. There are platonic burgers made of beef instead of cow lips and hooves. There are fish 'n' chips where the fish is more than just a white goo lurking at the bottom of a batter casing and you can't use the chips to shave with. There are hot dog fillings which have more in common with meat than mere pinkness, whose lucky consumers don't apply mustard
because that would spoil the taste. It's just that people can be trained to
prefer the other sort, and seek it out. It's as if Machiavelli had written a cookery book.
Even so, there is no excuse for putting pineapple on a pizza."
A very lengthy quote today by anyones standards but its more of an excerpt than a quote. This one comes from the Novel
The Last Continent by Terry Pratchett of which i am currently reading. It probably wont make a great deal of sense to well anyone who hasnt read the book but it comes from one of those little footnotes that he so happily uses throughout all of his novels. Its a rather funny one in my opinion most especially the last line there and more or less one that i agree with. So yes anywho.
Siiggh, you win this round CMT canada; i admit defeat, never to know the title of that elusive song that was actually good and not in the slightest countryish. One day you may allow me to download that song you damn redneck bastards but not today.
Not a great deal to talk about here, but there is bits and pieces here and there of stuff to blather on about for a good 5min or so. Firstly my movie reccomendation for today is a truely great film called "The Sting" Its a great piece of work that takes place in the depression and depcicts a bunch of con artists (led by Paul Newman and Robert Redford) and is actually very funny and suprising both at the same time. Just the sheer slick factor in how they pull everything off is worth watching the movie alone and i couldnt reccomend it more. GO RENT IT DAMNIT!
Wholey crap buying a vehicle is a gongshow. Not that i bought one myself per se (see people do learn all sorts of things off your site there jackie) but we needed a thrid vehicle so after what has been a rather gongshow process in itself for the last while we went to pick it up at the dealership down south in the land I forgot. Getting the damn thing wasnt the hard part, the tricky stuff was getting the insurance because happily the insurance place was closed due to the stampede parade until 12:00 forcing us to wait till then. Once insurance was had there was the happy jaunt trying to find a CAA, waiting in line to get the plate and finally getting the damn plate. Im almost tempted to walk everywhere from now on knowing all the work behind this. But then again vehicles are a necessity in this day and age, plus they make you look somewhat cooler than walking everywhere that and the most importaint reason of all im lazy as all hell. Hooray vehicle! Hmmm odd that ive got something to drive before i can drive but meh its an importaint step in the process that has no been fufilled. Plus 6 disc cd-changers are damn fun, no more switching cds for I.
Gotta go toss another few logs on the smoldering fire of rage there. Grrr... damn people, im not gonna elaborate on this until it plays out but 10-1 it will as im thinking so expect a huge crapload of rage in the coming week so batten down the hatches there cause im probably gonna blow.
Yeah well like i said not a great deal to elaborate on, still awaiting my government check in the mail, same goes for my Alberta Ed marks. Hope they come soon cause it would be great to know if i need to spend the money on the usual nothing importaint or put it towards gas money while i hunt for some menial labour job to do for the rest of my life (I really hope i dont have to elaborate on why i would be searching for a minimum wage job for the rest of my life cause if i do ill be very sad). Oh i just realised i didnt say what kind of vehicle we got, well its a Ford Escape. Yes yes i know, obligatory ford joke here, but meh i could care less; its got 4 wheels, it moves me places, i didnt have to pay for it and i get from point A to Point B so its damn fine enough. Only complaint is its not a car but ill live.

Yurkos song of the day: Turn up the Radio -
by Autograph
"The human mind is a dangerous plaything, boys. When it's used for evil, watch out! But when it's used for good, then things are much nicer."
Saluatory greeting to all and none, here we be with a very short post just for both the sake of posting and so someone can take the damn frist prize from the last contest of my hands. Another brilliant (well its brilliance in my mind) quote from The Tick, the site got a lot of good ones so this should last me most of the summer. I should mention though that these are all coming from the animated show from back in our childhood not the slightly amusing yet rather dissapointing live action one that was on the air a little while ago. Clearly animated is far superior in this case.
Kudos Keith on your commenting about music and tastes and so forth. 80's metal is god and im as huge of a supporter of Hair Metal (well the good stuff, not all the copy cat crap) as anyone else out there. That was the best part of vice city, such good music on those radio stations. It always pissed me off that you had to buy the damn compliation cds seperatly cause i think those really should ahve been packaged in with the game. But yeah if it wasnt for the fact that im poor i would have got the two that dealt with the rock stations. Good music all around. On that note todays song is a great one (and probably the only great one) by Autograph, incidently its a really good song for when your driving. Yay for continuing the 80's infusion!
I tell you though had i put this post up yesterday the mood would have definetly been a hell of alot more pissed off with a great deal of swearing and a general feeling of how the world can go procreate with itself. Nothing that a good nights sleep, a bit of Journey and some mad japansese video games cant fix though. Well if by fix you mean turn it down to a deep lying simmer of anger then well yeah. On that note though as i was going through Rogers video today (Bloody bastards not having Mad Max:The Road Warrior.. I wanted my post apokalypse Australia damnit!!!) i came across a cheap copy of the Wario Ware game for gamecube and Hooooo boy is it fun! Now the original was pretty fun in itself but they were somehow able to transform all the madness inherent within the GBA version into a crazy party game. Its mad fun esp if you can find someone who has a wacky and mostly insane sense of humour and has the attention span of a hyper squirrel. Thank god my sister fits the bill on that one, fun fun all around. (if anyone else does you should come over and then we can get a mad group of japanses infused madness going and either somehow develop ADD, go insane or have some fun). W00T go fun making.
Yeah so basically im done, like i said shortness would be appearant in this. Angel season two thus far has been a huge thumbs up. Ive realised that strumming on ones guitar with pick in hand is much more effective when standing; Stupid victor, i told him i could learn to use a pick. Peter you should complain to Haloscan saying there biased against russians, maby sue em and make a nice wad of cash before heading up here; hehe. Oh and before i forget, ive been trying to talk to u two in the last few days but neither of you have been on, so yeah Jenn and Janelle im no good for Monday, ive got a drivers ed refresher course that day (if all goes as planned ill be licensed by next week) so yeah cant come monday, i am good on tuesday if you guy are considering moving it but if not no worries its just the stampede and im sure that ill live not seeing the same thing that i see every year (i swear they just stop time ever year when it ends and start it up the next year cause its the SAME DAMN THING every single time).

Yurkos song of the day: Stagefright-
by Def Leppard
"Poppa's got a brand-new bag... of fish!"
Heheheheh....hehehe..... oooh man im sorry but i just find this particular quote (from that genius the tick) extremly funny. Then again it might be that my brain is reaching the consistency of warm tapioca due to all the extreme amounts of thinking ive been forced to due this summer (see negative infinity). Regardless its amusing for I so therefore so shall it remain. No Neil my concept of a post every 2 days CLEARLY did not fail, i was just waiting for you to comment....yeeaaahhh thats it... a good story and im sticking with it. Really no ive just became rather preoccupied in boredom and well just havent gotten around to putting up another one. This plus all that re-arranging of furniture in my cave so that its easier to scowl at people who want to make contact with me takes up a bit of time on my part. Sigh well no one ever said the life of a hermit was easy...cause hermits dont say anything to anyone...no one....Bah!
On a side note finally finished watching Angel season one. Dear god i never knew how long it takes to really watch 22 episodes of anything. Well hey on to season 2 i guess which i should be able to skim through what with it being the time i started watching the show. Too bad season 4 doesnt come out till sept 7th which is when ill be in edmonton and not really able to buy anything such as a dvd set of a tv show esp when there is a little thing taged onto it entitled $62.99
Yes yes i know, back to the Def Leppard. But hey it sticks with the whole 80's theme of late with the music so why not? I was for the sake of originality gonna put up some Depeche Mode but i couldnt think of any of there songs at the moment (yay going senile). Still a rather good group though, some of the best of the whole New Wave movement back in the day. Of course that being said 10-1 no ones gonna like em but meh its my song of the day so if you dont like it you can go suck a lemon.
Sticking with music ive recently made yet another one of those rather pointless and slightly (and probably) boring thoughts about myself. This being the fact that ive been going over both most of the songs ive listed here in my songs of the day and those i consider my favourites and there seems to be somewhat of a rather odd trend. This being the fact that a great deal of them well deal with the whole subject of being in love, staying in love etc etc. and this fact streches over to basically ever genre of music so its not that im just listening to crap (ala insert whiney pop crooner here). Granted basically 8 out of 10 songs these days are based around the afformentioned topic yet its still odd all things considered this being a guy who is nice and lonley (hence hermit) and one would thing not really looking for songs that drive that point home. This being said i can think of a few songs that rate rather high which are pretty much the opposite (On any other day by the police coming to the forefront). Odd... hmmm well yeah like always i have no idea where im going with this so for the sake of everyone within a 25mile radius ill shut up.
Now on to the only thing anyone is probably looking for in this post. This being the recap of the preceeding posts rather sucessful (if i do say so myself) contest dealie. Wow i must say it ended up being a rather interesting jaunt which is always nice considering this summer seems to be very intrest free as a whole... dear god now i sound like a credit card ad... shoot me now. Aaannywho the biggest suprise out of all of this was Jackie coming out of nowhere to win the coveted first prize, sort of a Greeceish situation if greece had just shown up at the stadium expecting a concert and ended up winning the Euro Cup. With that said as i have told a few of you Jackie has graciously relinquished the "Fabulous" prize package that came along with the coveted title. Of course she retains the title and all the glory and power fortwith but this brings me to my second point. Since the first prize is back in my hands again ive decided that on the next post (hopefully in 2 days) this prize will yet again be up for grabs to whomever is the first to comment of course with a few exceptions. Firstly I would hope that jackie would not try to compete cause it would make me rather sad if you win twice for a prize you dont want jackie. Yeah so jackie if you see there hasnt been any comments just hold your horses for a second so i dont have a brain anyurism :P. The remaing two prizes do have actually recipients though, second prize i felt should go to Mr. Keith for a few reasons. Firstly his post turned out to be longer than yours jenn and plus his way of padding the length was far more amusing than the one you chose to partake in. Second he already owns most of the games found in the first prize so he has no really need for pursuing it and thirdly neils late entry although longer and filled with more quality, he choose to remain in the running for this reissue of the first prize so to keith goes the army men. Next time i see ya ill be sure to give em to ya. On that note tough since he has already won a prize Keith is also exempt from the reissue. The third prize, otherwise known as the illustrious "Thanks for Coming out Walrus" was a much tougher one to decide on. This one came down to the rather long winded and eloquent comments put forth by Mr.Maitland and the one named Jackie. Even though your rather noteworth effort and total and utter obliviousness to the situation was very well done maitland (worthy of a honourable mention for sure) i felt that being totally oblivious to the situation and somehow managing to win the top prize is more of the epitomy of the phrase "Thanks for Coming Out" Its not an easy task to win a contest that you dont even know exists and so for that reason Jackie is the recipient of the lovable "Thanks for coming out Walrus"
Now for those of you who didnt win prizes dont become disheartened as i am sure you will not because all of you are eligible for the reissue of the first prize coming up in the next post. Also considering that this seemed to be rather sucessful and somewhat fun i think ill do another one of these probably some time in august (sort of a last huzzah before i head off to university) with bigger and fancier (see slightly more expensive) prizes and possibly a few more awards than just the 3. Hooray Anticipation!! Hooray Responsible Drinking!! Hooray Beer!! (and if you dont get that click on that link in the previous post damnit!! or i might be forced to do nothing at all and i warn you i can be very furious when not in motion)

Yurkos song of the day: Turning Japanese -
by The Vapors
"Life is a big wild crazy tossed salad, but you don't eat it, no sir! You live it!"
Hey Hey faithful readers, here we are with yet another; albeit slightly late post. This one my friends marks both the commensement of the planned post every 2 days that ill try to uphold this summer (to most probably very bad results) and also the much awaited contest post (yaaay!). Sorry this one took so long to see fruitation but well as sad as it may sound im barely a week into summer and already ive lost track of the passage of time. If it wasnt for the fact that the paper informed me that today is friday i would have had no idea. The main reason though is that i wanted to get the prizes for the contest before posting this here dealie up in which i have done, yesterday in fact.
The prizes you say? Yes prizes indeed! First prize (for being the first to post) is actually a rather good one i must say, it being this very nice prize package including 3 really rather good computer games; they being the game of the year edition of Deus Ex, Thief II: The Metal Age, Commandoes 2 PLUS!! it comes with a very nice coaster in the shape of a CD with the words Tomb Raider Chronicles written across the face; high quality place for you drink i must say! (ok so sue me, 3 of the 4 games are good, it was the best pack i could find so like i said a very nice coaster). SO yes a very high quality first prize to be enjoyed by all. Second prize, this being the one that goes out to whomever makes the best quality comment is a very nice package of assorted Army Men along with various accesories to go towards their enjoyment (barbed wire, sandbags etc). Honestly im kinda dissapointed in these army men, there slightly larger than the normal kind but meh they were the best i could find yesterday and they will rather nicely do the job. Now on to the ever fun that is third prize. Ive slightly changed the requirements for this one though, so as to ensure the validity of its namesake. Originally it was just gonna be the last person who posted gets the "Thanks for coming out Prize"; which i might add is now the "Thanks for coming out Walrus" (hehe walrus, im sorry i find this rather amusing). But yes ive modified the rules behind this one to now it is either the last person to post or the person who puts the least amount of any effort at all into their post OR the person who makes the last comment. Ive added that clause just so that its not someone who is in the running for the second prize who ends up winning the thanks for coming out walrus cause well if they have put enough effort into their post to have a chance at the army men i dont think they deserve the walrus. Complain all you want but thats how it is to remain.
Well enough about all of that and on to some other stuff. Firstly todays song is a little bit of some classic 80's cheese rock. Rather amusing song in all its vapid pointless glory. I had actually had a few other songs lined up for this post but while flipping through after watching the Daily Show (damn hilarious show i must add) Wednesday night i came across the retro boogie dance party on MuchMoreMusic and this was playing. Of course it just begged to be made the song of the day and who am i to deny corney 80's rock that pleasure? Also i think ive finally ran out of futurama quotes to put in the title so today begins the advent of the mighty words of wisdom that came from that genious known as The Tick. Its really too bad that Teletoon doesnt show it anymore cause man was that show a classic. Ah well at least ill be able to remeber it in all its corney animated glory.
Picked up the Good the Bad and the Ugly a while back, ive yet to sit down and watch it but i really want to considering its some good old Spaghetti western at its finest, not to mention Clint Eastwood kicks some serious ass in that film. Ill just have to add it to the list of stuff to do this summer right behind beating countless video games, reading a crapload of books and taking over the world.
Gonna reply to a few comments here and then wrap up this post. Firstly Yes i know Keith there is more to the series than just the original games but i was talking about them due to the fact that i just got the collection that includes all the original games. Not to mention the fact that ive beaten MegaMan X1,2 and 4; halfway through beating 5, nearly done 3 and are unable to find a PC version of 6 (plus i dont want to get my hands dirty touching 7). Plus i own and have beaten both of the current Zero games and remeber i already got your massive collection of SNES and NES roms from you back in the days of calc so for gaming i should be rather good. Plus good show on the Angel/Buff DVD sets there. Never really got into buffy, and i only got into angel cause eventually it became "Hey lets see what this show always on after smallville is like" but yeah its good to support old shows that you like (plus season 4 comes out sept. 7th, whoo!).
Yes Jackie i fully realise how bad that new commenting system is but i was just going all Neville Chamberlain style in appeasing those who were constantly whining about the charachter limit of the Haloscan commenting (although minus the whole slicing up of Czechoslovakia). But yes i do agree that the blogger commenting is ugly, a pain in the ass and very hard to work around (Much like hitler...wow 2 lame ass social jokes in one post, today must be a good day) so dont worry your beliefs are duly noted and agreed upon. It will still remain though so that no one can complain about the charachter limit but like ive said before i would prefer if you used the Haloscan comment system.
Finally this isnt really a reply to a comment but i just have to talk about it. Same night i was watching the Daily Show and came across todays song of the day i also came across probably THE BEST beer commercial ever being played on Comedy Network. Its for some jamaican Beer known as Redstripe Beer and is done in the style of a very corney infomercial. Its a kinda long commercial and near the very end tends to drag a bit but hoooo boy is it funny. Of course this is my sense of humour talking here folks but regardless i implore you to take a look at it
Red Stripe Beer Infomerical. Its not the funniest commercial ever, that crown still goes to the great American Express Sienfield/superman ads i mentioned a while back but for a summer afternoon its still pretty amusing so take a look (its the one marked infomercial).
Yes well it would appear that I have came to the end of this particular ramble, not much has been said and well i am sure you have all fallen asleep from the boredom regardless
LET THE RACE BEGIN!!
