What is it about Roman Numerals that makes them so bloody cool? Who wants to use a bland old boring arabic (Although actually created by the Indians but thats a discussion for another day) like '4' when you could kick it up to a epic looking IV. Man if everything started coming in roman numeral form it would make life suddenly feel of movie quality. I would probably be able to stomache LXVII for a mark far easier in this form (only if its presented in a manner befitting its style). Just imagine reading your minimal paycheque out with a background of tympani drums and trumpets. Wait where did that come from?

Oh, now that the tickets are proudly hanging from my wall making it semi-official it seems like a good time to announce SASQUATCH!!! What is this random linking of an obscure music festival you ask? Well if you havent determined from my mention of tickets I as well as my happy group of music appreciative friends will be treking to the states this summer for said festivities. To say that I am pumped is far to weak of a term. So to fully express my excitement I shall now direct your attention to a few solid lines of exclamation points. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All of my compounded knowledge derived from lazy sunday watchings of much more music and listening to the evolution of music on sonic caused me to have a startling but somewhat obvious realisation. Music is always in a state of flux and at some point this great music scene that i loves will come to an end of sorts. A very saddening state of affairs considering how much music and the subculture defines me now. All I can hope for is that it lasts until I have officially recieved my 'Suprise! Your Old!" card in the mail and that whatever replaces it is just as good if not evolutionary better. I am fully aware how foolish it would be to hope to remain active in the live music viewing well into my 30's but that doesnt mean i cant enjoy music from the comfort of my home. Therefor for old chris's (i really need to learn how to pluralise things properly) sake I plead now to the gods of rock and/or roll that the death of indie either brings about something along the lines of super indie or something unforseen but still as cool.
Heck just so long as its not a spiritual sucessor to grunge, pop punk, punk (nothing really against punk its just not my cup of tea/doesnt really represent my mentality towards life) or emo I think everything will be ok.

Somewhat of a sad marker of my priorities when this is a concern. Oh well

Just planned out my schedual for next year and boy did it bring about some scary thoughts. Namely its already 3rd year (almost) and I have no fucking clue what im doing with my life. On top of everything else now there is a sense of forboding dread with everything I do. Of course being the person I am that usually leads to doing stuff that just wastes time and puts it out of my mind. Which just makes things worse.

    Fuck

I just realised that there is an artist I listen to quite a bit and yet has never been mentioned on here. Lets change that shall we?
Kristofer Astrom & Hidden Truck makes for a pretty swell audio experience. If only I could find a copy of one of his albums for sale here in Canada so he could be properly supported. Always the internet I suppose but the bank account should get a slight break after some of my ridiculous purchases of late.

So yes... Check out the Musics!

I scarcely thought it possible but my faith in the Wachowski brothers has been renewed once again. To put it mildly V for Vendetta is a spectacular film. I go so far as to say it beats out the first Matrix in my mind (most likely due to all around better acting). Granted it is a very political film but then again that is the entire point of the story/message its trying to get across. The fact that Warner Bros. made such a left leaning movie to begin with is somewhat suprising but no matter. What does matter is that you go and see this film asap because I for one wouldnt mind seeing this film become a sucess if only because it might give new strength to the Watchmen being made.

Just some words of advice, if you have yet to see the somewhat old movie Swingers go out and rent it this weekend and be pleasantly amused. Same goes for Leon the Professional.

Oh and Happy Excuse for College kids to get Hammered to a not really understood Irish Holiday!

Shame really, I had wanted to make this post along with a new look for the ol' site but after slogging through roughly 200 templates on various sites I realised it just wasn’t meant to be. Unless of course I suddenly become an angst ridden 13 year old emo (used in the derogatory current day definition, not the was a viable music subgenre at one point reference) girl but the odds are not good for that outcome.

Why a new look? Well due to the various trains of thought that have been running past my mind as of late I felt like something a little more in line with what I see as Zen like relaxation. Aka a big sunny beach with lots of palm trees. It would have acted as a focal point for my thoughts much along the lines of my Porsche desktops (yes my obsession with the delightful German automobile is pretty high) but to no avail apparently.

This focal point is required because somewhat recently I have made the decision that certain avenues of life will for the foreseeable future have a complete emotional detachment with your truly. I just don't see why so much time and effort and mental anguish should be spent on something that just doesn't seem to want to change. Life has the tendency of happening and I plan to let it but if that part ever decides to come to the party, as late as it is, it knows where I am. Move up, move out and move on. Its my motto and its all I can do.

Well its late and I think I'm Blogsphered out.
Oh, new haircut on the head. Why? No idea really, boredom probably had something to do with it. Once a picture is available it will be posted so you can all laugh derisively towards me (oh futurama) but until then the best I can come up with is a modish era Pete Townshend but a bit more pretentious (which I am become more and more of lately but that will be for another day)

Go watch something funny, you deserve it.

Well I can happily add the Most Serene Republic show to the annals of amazing live performances. They and the Acorns (the openers) rocked out quite epically and appearantly so did In-flight safety although I sadly missed them. What truly made the night had to have been just standing and talking with Most Serene's drummer and lead singer for around 20min after the show. As my friend Gordo put it every single band should have that down to earth mentality. Being able to talk with some kick ass artists as though your all just old friends is a pretty amazing feeling.

You know how sometimes a song can just fit your current vibe so perfectly its haunting? Well the current vibe round herebouts is The Upward March by the Bell Orchestre.

Also the era of the cave has officially begun. What does that entail you are most likely not asking? Once I make some changes and get a few things in order it will be divulged in detail.

Rock out and support your local somethings.

I'm fully aware of how late to this particular party I am (considering it aired in and around 1996) but I just thought I should say that if you are ever wandering around in an independent movie rental place (because blockbuster and radio shack wouldnt have it) and you come across something called "Mystery Science Theater 3000" do not hesitate to rent it.
Amazingly terrific humour can be found as a result of such a rental especially if you enjoy random somewhat corney but ultimatly great comedy.
