Yurkos song of the day: Like a Stone-
by Audioslave
"Tragedy is when I cut my finger. Comedy is when you walk into an open sewer and die"
hehehehehehe....... Im sorry but this is now officially THE BEST QUOTE EVER!! bar none; no exceptions; end of discussion. Granted i find pretty much all of Mel Brook's movies extremly funny (he being the one who uttered this magnificient statement) so my opinions might be slightly biased. Regardless of that fact i love that quote. Just thought i would point that out in case you folks didnt gather that from the whole fact that i made it my quote of the day and all.
Moving on, profound apoligies for the massive lapse in posts. 2 plus weeks is a horrendus amount of time to not put up a new one. Rest assurred my head is hung in shame. Of course you people do need to realise that my combination of massive amts of homework plus leaving stuff till the last minute tends to add up to a constant madcaped game of finish whats due in the next 10min which needless to say doesnt leave much time for a blog. I will put in attempts though, such as now so dont forget about this site completly, otherwise i will be sad and comon who honestly wants to see yurko sad? (bonus points to whomever responds to that the wittiest, and yes i know what all you pricks are going to say {most especially neil}).
All that being said, let us see if i can remeber what it is that ive done in the last while. Not a great deal would be the all-encompassing answer. Went drinking again with the floor last friday, yes i know twice in a month is madness huh? (hey ive always said im not a big drinker). Ive decided that the only way one can injest the crap that is Kokanee is by drinking enough good liquor beforehand so as to deaden the tastebuds. And you know what im cutting this paragraph short cause this is all that fucking blogger decided to save after its random spazdic server crash. Bloody hell... bloody hell.
So yeah on to music i guess, originally i did have a rather long winded rambling about TV, movies, all of my courses and the like but damnit ive not only lost all intrest in this post but forgotten much of what i wrote. Have i mentioned that im rather pissed at blogger? Well i just did yet again. Im sorry its not you people faults, but gah all that effort gone. Might as well move on to the abriged rant on U2's Vertigo. Vertigo being there latest single off the up and coming new album. Not song of the day im sure your all thinking? but why is this? do you not like U2? have i asked enough questions to piss anyone off yet? The answer to all of that is a resounding catfish. Seriously though (well as serious as i can ever be when ive just mentioned something utterly stupid {so as serious as i always am}) its not that bad of a song, its one of those songs that you start to appreciate after about the 10th listen. There lies my problems with it, and why its not my song of the day (and most likely never will be). The first single off a long awaited album should smack the listener upside the head with the "BUY ME" two by four, cause thats what leaves an impression not a slight prod to the arm that takes a good hundred more for you to appreciate the effect. First singles should leave you anticipating more, wanting the album etc not saying, as some of my floor mates put it "It sounds more like a garbled mess of sound than a song" or to put it more bluntly "definetly not U2's best". Good impression to get from the first listen, well unless you were going for the apathetic sells no records vibe. And that video, what can you say about it other than a bunch of failing grade 10 drama kids could probably come up with better. Playing infront of one static camera while clearly on a soundstage with a curtain behind you, oh wait sorry a curtain with some lights flashing on it, is obviously up to the high standards that one associates with a labels most prominent groups. Siighh... ah well thats enough razzing on old 80's rock groups. Ive taken quite the liking of the music of both Tom Petty and Audioslave recently. Might have to actually go out and purchase one of either's albums. That being of course when i get some money (so see not for a good while).
That being said i bring to a close this lobotomised version of what could have been a far long, far more interesting and far wittier post but nooo blogger likes to randomly crash its servers just to piss me off. Who am i kidding, no one cares about yurko that much; random chance and all that. One final note if any of you folks see "Reaperman" by Terry Pratchett or "Settling Accounts: Return Engagement" by Harry Turtledove for sale ill gladly reimburse you if you could pick it up for me cause i have looked and am currently unable to find either novel this side of existence.
Till Next Ramble (unless blogger swallows this post as well)

Yurkos song of the day: On Top-
by The Killers
"I'm sure millions of viewers out there are just wondering what it's like to wear the tights of justice. Well, it's tingly and it's uncomfortable, but it gets the job done and, oh, the job of it!"
Yes yes i know, long time coming etc but meh school has somewhat taken priority over the blog; sorry folks but its the truth. That being said i did feel that i should throw something up so you dont start tossing virtual mangos or something. Firstly before i forget, damn good song today by what has become my current favourite group. Yes i am sure you have all heard "somebody told me" but these guys have got some other amazing stuff. A real 80's new wave vibe but still modern sounding. A definite thumbs up in my books. On that note, new U2 single comes out Nov.8 which is amazing!!! and a new cd is soon to follow so im pumped for that. Slightly downtrodden that no one wants to go see Van Halen around here, but meh ill live without witnessing sammy fagar fuck up the DLR classics.
So yeah where to start, cant comment on any movies/games/tv cause university has effectivly cut me off from the outside world. I think ive noticed a newspaper like once in the last 2 weeks which i find kindof odd. Ah well im sure if something big happens like the northern half of North America falls into the ocean that ill find out. I must add though that university has officially killed all the love of reading that i used to hold. DAMN YOU COURSES!!! bleh, i spent all of today reading for my bloody courses. On that note i really get the feeling i picked the wrong english course. Gah its full of AP english freaks, all able to understand the "deeper" meanings of shakespear, not to mention the essays every thursday and to add icing on the cake we have to read the one book that after seeing it in a practice diploma i swore i would never read in my life. That of course being Pride and Prejudice, and i might add damn you to hell jane austin.
Anywho, ill switch now to the question answers. Oh first rofl neil, that picture was officially the funniest thing i have seen in a while. It was like charley and the chocolate factory all over again except replace the chick eating the bubblegum with sideburns. Hehehe. Damn straight i drink tea, and hey didnt i ever tell you of my plan to do my residency for med school in london? Hmm thought i did, ah well you know now. Moving on, floor wise it depends on the tower. Henday (the one im in) has only 10 floors so second from the top; some of the other ones have 12. Reason i dont take the elevators often is because they take an ungodly long time to get up to the 9th floor so hence the stairs although happily some girl on the floor has donated her kettle to the kitchen so i can at least get my tea through there. Man its so great that you guys got a kick out of my email adress. No one and i mean no one found it at least a little amusing. My humour is completly unapreciated around here. My full name btw is Christopher Robert Danie Yurkovich; most places (uofa appearantly is one of them) likes to deny the fact that i have two middle names so hence the cry, but hey im not complaining crdy just doesnt have the same kick to it. Yeah i do agree jackie, the new bar is much better looking than the old annoying adbar but the whole seach thing never worked with my site so it was kindof pointless for me, hence the lack of remorse to it being gone. That being all said i should be off, i would like to point out that Koakanee=elephant piss although koakanee gold isnt that bad. I think ill stick to my fancy ass heinekin though, expensive though it may be. (Yes i know i butchered both companies names but what do i care i never could spell anyways) Man i really need to bring the futurama dvd's up cause god am i bored.

Yurkos song of the day: Don't Come Around Here No More-
by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
"You're not going crazy! You're going sane in a crazy world!"
Hooo Boy, blogging it up Edmonton style. Heading out for breakfast at 9am and well ive got an hour to kill so i figured might as well post something to kill the time. I dont promise anything of intrest but if it helps kill your boredom than my work here is done.
My god moving in is a pain in the ass. Especially when you live on the 9th floor of your residence builiding. Ive decided that if i ever live in an apartment im going for ground floor and one that comes with a fridge. Damn thing, all that lugging around etc. Oh a word of advice for you folks out there. You know how your parents always told you dont talk to strangers well i would like to add on to that "Dont talk to strangers especially if they are carrying a newscamera on there back." Yeah so like i said moving was a pain in the ass so just to add onto it all, while im unloading the old van this guy from the local A Channel walks by with his camera and asks if he can film me for a second. So im thinking maby he just needs a shot of some people walking into the building or something so i say sure why not. Turns out this camera guy ends up filming me lugging everything up into my room, and then interviews me. So needless to say on my first day here i got to look very very odd to everyone in the entire building (some kid who gets his own camera crew) plus i got to happily look and sound like a moron on the 6 o'clock news. Hooray for Me! Only solace i have is that it was on A Channel and if edmontons is anything like calgarys no one was watching. Siiggh but yeah thats pretty much it for the whole moving in. Im in, everything more or less works. Just have to work out a few bugs with my UofA email; which by the way for those who care/want a joke is
cry@ualberta.ca Gotta love my initals, of course i could change my email but meh this is slightly amusing and is a good way to start a conversation so ill keep it.
So yeah tahts enough about university, nothing interesting has really happened to me otherwise in the first day; well other than our floor had a pinata which was good fun and my hallway has 4 exchange students which is rather cool. A guy from india, one from Pakistan and two from colombia. Should be a good experience learning about other cultures etc. Also realised i really need to buy a kettle cause walking down 9 flights of stairs (im to lazy to wait for the slow ass elevators...and yet i take the stairs...hmmmm) just for my morning tea is just a slight pain in the ass.
Oh i was finally able to vanquish my temporary arch-nemisis, that being those bloody A things that were popping up around the site. Big thanks to the guy who made this template originally who was nice enough to actually fix the code and email it back to me. Kudos sir! Kudos. Plus as a bonus my site now somewhat covers up that rather useless blogger top bar thing, which is good cause well why in gods name would anyone search for something on my site anways; plus theres the whole fact that it doesnt work with my site but thats not the point. The point is I am more or less tapped out in terms of creatitivty (hey its 8:30 in the bloody morning, so sue me). That being said I now venture back in to the "fun" world that is pre-university living. Probably going to have to buy my books today (bleh) but with Bender, the always cool stuffed Yoshi and Kingdom Come Superman keeping me company i will press onwards.
Till Next Ramble
